| Abstract | The basic aspectual operators «complete» (in French, accompli) and «incomplete» (in French, inaccompli) are already envisaged by the Stoics for the ancient Greek. Theses operators, from a modern perspective, are realized on the topological intervals with open and closed boundaries. We define precisely the aspectual operators of state, event, process and resultant state which are integrated in the formalism of typed Combinatory Logic by Curry. A classic structure of Klein's group of transformations on the principal aspectual values is presented. We show how to link with the same formalism the aspectual meanings of verbs, represented by the schemes, and their composition with the aspectual operators. The article presents the theory by the formal processing of some examples, from a morpho-syntactical analysis toward metalinguistic representations inside the framework of the Cognitive and Applicative Grammar. The formal representations are used to formalize the grammatical and lexical inferences which will be presented in another publication. |
