Centre d’analyse et de mathématique sociales - CAMS

Taking a resolutely pluirdisciplinary approach, the Centre d’analyse et de mathématique sociales (CAMS) makes a unique contribution to French research in combining work in the social sciences with mathematics, computer science, and theoretical physics.

Research projects at the Center involve Pure Mathematics, theoretical Compuer Science, or social sciences modelling focused on developing new models (combinatory, probability, dynamic, computer-based) to reveal hidden structures.

The Center covers a broad range of Humanities and Social Sciences subject areas including:

  • Cognitive Science
  • Linguistics
  • Economics
  • Financial Markets
  • Risk Management
  • Sustainable Development (including the impact on political decision-making).

CAMS is open to biological and ecological models. Methodologies are very varied including advanced mathematics, statistical physics, information theory, simulation, complex theory, and big data analysis.
