Institut Jean Nicod - IJN
Created in 2002, IJN is jointly managed by the Ecole normale supérieure (ENS) and the Ecole des hautes études en sciences sociales (EHESS), the Institute works on questions of Cognitive Science and has around 80 members, 50% of whom are PhD students. The other half is made up of around 15 CNRS researchers and professors and postdocs.
The Center's work is mainly in Analytical Philosophy but it also covers work on Linguistics and in Social Sciences. The unifying theme or the Center's work is the Human Mind and the Nature of Representations (Linguistic, Mental, Social).
At the ENS, the Institut Jean Nicod is both part of the Philosophy Department and the Cognitive Studies Department.
