Global Reordering: Prospects for Equality, Democracy and Justice
2018 Annual SASE Conference

The Society for the Advancement of Socio-Economics (SASE) is an international, inter-disciplinary organization with members in over 50 countries on five continents. The academic disciplines represented in SASE include economics, sociology, political science, management, psychology, law, history, and philosophy. Its annual meetings bring top-notch researchers together to share their latest, most significant insights in real-time, where the exchange of ideas breeds future innovation.
FFJ wished to celebrate the first time of the SASE annual conference in Asia by enhancing its support and presence. In 2018, SASE 30th Annual Meeting is welcomed by Doshisha University, Kyoto, from June 23rd to 25th.
At this occasion, FFJ supports a mini conference "State Transformations, Spatial Austerity and the Globalization of Urban Decline: in Search of Alternative Urban Policies", funded by the INCAS project ; and two panels in the framework of its research project on Relations between Africa and Asia, entitled "Global Reordering and New Model of Development: Perspectives from Asia and Africa". Finally, two panels on "Capitalism, Welfare Regime and Intimate Sphere" are the results of the ungoing program CAPWELCARE led by FFJ and Kyoto University since 2015.
FFJ/SASE Best Article Award
FFJ, has enhanced its support to SASE Annual Meeting. This year, FFJ/SASE Best Article Award will not be limited to Asian capitalism but will include all topics on Asia. The article will be chosen among the papers selected by SASE to participate in the Annual Meeting.
Young Research Travel Award
Moreover, FFJ has set up a Young Researcher Travel Award that will recompense five young researchers (PhD students and post-doctoral researchers only) for the quality of their paper by granting them a round-trip ticket for SASE Annual Meeting in Kyoto. Only PhD students and post-doctoral researchers are eligible for this prize. Please note that submitters cannot receive both the SASE Early Career Workshop award and the Young Research Travel Award.
