Demande de partenariat dans le cadre du Programme d\'actions intégrées \"Zenon\"

The Research Promotion Foundation of Cyprus under the Action Programme Cyprus-France  has announced a new call for proposals on 1 March 2005.

This Action Programme involves an inter-state cooperation between FRANCE and CYPRUS and aims at the development of a scientific and research cooperationbetween the two countries. The deadline is the 31st of May, 2005.

Cyprus College is the first private higher educational institution to be established in Cyprus. Today Cyprus College is a modern educational institution of higher learning distinguished for its quality and continuous efforts to maintain a spirit of excellence in learning.

In October 2004, the College has established the Research Support Unit. The unit aims to create an atmosphere conducive to the pursuit of research and other creative and scholarly undertakings, and to ensure a broad representation of research across all Schools and Departments of Cyprus College. Cyprus College has very actively been involved in research projects funded by national and international research institutions and the European Commission. In addition, the College has been awarded and carried out successfully, research projects by the Republic of Cyprus and other governments in continental Europe, Middle East and Asia.

The intended for submission project proposal, aims to study the violence within the family context, and more precisely the violence exercised upon women from their partners. The project will examine not only the type of violence that women are subject to, but also the driving factors that lead to such behaviour, as well as women s reaction to it. Finally, the project will put forward suggestions for the pre-emption of this phenomenon, and ways to tackle it through a strategic social policy. It should be noted that the approach that this project should adopt must be cross-cultural. Therefore, the study will aim to capture, compare and contrast the current realities both in France and Cyprus.

Should you be interested in becoming a partner, we would be glad to establish a cooperation of mutual benefit with you.

Please note, that a more detailed project description along with a provisional budget will be available later on. In the meantime if you need any further information or clarification please do not hesitate to contact me.
