Gender and temporalities of interdependences

Mobilising social presences to analyse solidarities

Séminaire CAPWELCARE avec Marc Bessin (CNRS) dans le cadre du séminaire "Capitalism, Welfare Regime and Intimate Sphere: Theory of Human Reproduction in Mature Societies in Europe and East Asia"

This communication focuses on the concept of social presences : they complete the ethics of care through gender and temporalist perpectives. The sociology of social presences makes it possible to poticizise the care's perspectives and then to analyze solidarities. Social presences are indeed not limited to a local sphere (you can be present even if you are at a distance away). They are also not limited to the present (we can assure some presences that have some effects in the future). We will present the heuristics possibilities of this concept and explore some of them regarding life course, institutions or public policies.
